West Linn

A southern suburb of Portland, West Linn serves as one of the beauties in the Portland-Metro area.

Welcome to West Linn

With a beautiful view of the Cascades, West Linn sits on the westside of the Willamette River in Clackamas County. Renowned for its balance of beautiful scenery and affordability, West Linn has been cited as one of the best places to live. Beautiful parks such as Mary S. Young Recreational park features an off-leash dog park, soccer fields and five to eight miles of trails for all to enjoy. West Linn’s Central Village is an open-air urban center with a “town square” feel. It plays host to specialty shoppes, high-end restaurants, and professional service firms. West Linn’s downtown is a revitalized historic Willamette strip, where what was once the town of Willamette now lays shops, restaurants, cafes and much more that add to an “old-school” feel. Downtown serves as a highly utilized community area hosting many of West Linn’s community events. This strip is home to the Summer Street Market with over 50 vendors and the resident favorite Old Time Fair Parade where actors and citizens participate in a medieval celebration. With Portland only being 25 minutes away, many make the commute from this relaxing community to the city for business.

West Linn is at its most vibrant during the summer. Sitting at the junction of two rivers, the Willamette and Tualatin, water recreation is by far the most popular activity. After a long day of outdoor activities, summer evenings in West Linn include picnic dinners, concerts in the park and walks along the waterfront. West Linn shares its school district with Wilsonville as the West Linn-Wilsonville School District (WLWSD). The school district provides two high schools, West Linn High and Wilsonville High, and many different schools for both elementary and junior high. With a smaller population, the 29,552 citizens of West Linn have a tight-knit relationship within their community. Local events are more of a family gathering and with national praise it’s no wonder why the city has experienced growth over the past few years. Whether its a local high school sports event, scenic views or a summer night, the West Linn community has something for everyone.
